In the last few weeks we have made three trips to the Spring River. Fished once at the Dam in the State Park and twice at Dam #3 (the State Fish Hatchery). The fishing was excellent in both place. We had lots of action on orange and chartreuse Y2Ks, Jim's AP nymph, soft hackles, wooly buggers, and midges. The fish were in all sizes, from pretty small to quite large. We fished on a week day and there was no crowding. I spoke to the driver of the hatchery truck after he unloaded one. He said that the state stocks the river every week, all year around. They stock at both the public accesses and a the private ones. So if you can't catch any fish, it sound like it might be a personal problem!
