The Swallows Nest Fly Tyers meetings are every Wed. night, at 6 p.m. IF, we are home. So, you MUST call ahead to see if we'll be here. Don't call, don't bother.....you MUST rsvp. No need to bring hooks or materials.....i can supply most anything you'll ever need for a Trout fly.....if you'd like, i also give lessons @ $60 for a three hour lesson, all hooks and materials provided. And if you don't have a vise and or tools yet...........not a problem. i got you covered. Membership in the Swallows Nest Fly Tyers cost a one time fee of $10.oo and is a Lifetime Membership.....with that you get a club pin. "Official Membership" is not nessessary to attend a meeting. There's only 4 rules. (1.) Don't bring alcohol or plan to get drunk, (2.), and be courteous to others who may not be as advanced as you. (3.) It's basically not a club for beginners.....but if a newbie shows up and wants to learn (informally), he or she won't be turned away.....UNLESS they didn't call first. That's MANDATORY. New OnStar number is 870-321-6056..... ;>) We recently got back from two shows.....one in Denver http://www.flyfishingshow.com and one for the Boise Valley Fly Fishers in Boise, Idaho. Their version of the Sowbug.....GREAT show. We will not be having our regular Wed. eve. meeting the following three weeks after the Sowbug as we will be headed to Lewiston, Idaho the very morning after the Sowbug to do the Western Rocky Mountain Council (FFF) Conclave on the following weekend. Then we have a show in Blaine, Minnesota on the way home, and the following Wed. i'll be in my bed sleeping all day........lmao.....IF, we're even back by then. Looks like we'll miss the April Tye-In as well unfortunately.....got a show in Talhequah, Oaklahoma that weekend, and then another (FFF Gulf Coast Council Conclave) in San Antonio,Texas the following weekend. We've cut back significantly this year from as many as 30 events ('08), or the 28 we did last year, to only bout a dozen. Each year we will be cutting back more and more til we get down to bout only a half dozen a year or so. Misa's new book will be officially out on March 1st.
